PatientBill Community is a neighborhood table for patients dealing with medical debt. We keep it candid, practical, and safe.
We are all here because medical billing is broken and stressful. Treat others with the empathy you would want when facing a confusing bill. Share your experiences, answer questions if you know the answer, and offer moral support.
Never post personal health information (PHI), account numbers, dates of birth, or full names (yours or others). You may name hospitals and health systems, but do not dox individual staff members or physicians. Our system automatically blocks obvious PII/PHI, but the ultimate responsibility is yours.
Do not tell people to ignore lawsuits, skip court dates, or stop taking medication. Sharing what worked for you ("I asked for an itemized bill") is great. Giving authoritative legal directives ("You can definitely ignore that collections letter") is not allowed.
This is a space for patients. It is not a place for patient advocates, lawyers, billing companies, or software vendors to find clients. Posting links to paid services, GoFundMe campaigns, or self-promotion will result in an immediate ban.
Venting about the healthcare system is completely fine—it is frustrating! But avoid turning the community into a purely political debate forum. Keep discussions grounded in practical realities, billing strategies, and personal experiences.
